Have mercy O God, this is my confession
Let love and compassion blot out my transgression
Wash away iniquity, cleanse my sin
For you know my guilt that is burning within

I sinned against you though you showed me the light
I have done evil, right in your sight
I was sinful since birth, since I was conceived
But you surely desire to teach wisdom to me

So clean my conscience, let my guilt go
Wash me and I will, be whiter than snow
Let me hear the joy, and gladness of your voice
Let the bones you have crushed, reform and rejoice

From all my sins please hide your face
Blot out my iniquity and my disgrace
Create in me a new pure heart
And spirit with a steadfast start

I love your presence I want to be near it
Don’t take me away from your Holy Spirit
You are my rock, my one foundation
Restore the joy of your salvation

I’ll teach transgressors to be true
And the sinners will turn back to you
O God save me from this guilt
Save me from the blood I spilt

I’ll be righteous all my days
My lips and tongue will sing your praise
If you liked sacrifice, I would bring
Anything as a burnt offering
