Peace

|
|||
I’m calling out to all the people underneath the sun
If you’re a man or a woman, if you’re old, if you’re young
No matter what you do, or the nation of your birth
Join me in this prayer for Peace on Earth
People of the planet lets start having Peace
From here at home all the way to the Middle East
There’s no need for fighting, no need for killing
The world isn’t a comic book full of super villains
The only thing that you should be afraid of is your fears
So open up your eyes, open up your ears
Open up your hearts and open up your minds
Just leave all your hatred and anger behind
Reach out to your neighbor and try to connect
With peace and love and unity and respect
It isn’t very hard and I pray that you do
The world needs peace and peace starts with you
So I’m calling out to all the people underneath the sun
If you’re a man or a woman, if you’re old, if you’re young
No matter what you do, or the nation of your birth
Join me in this prayer for Peace on Earth
We are one nation, one people, one love
Part of one universe, with one God above
When people recognize that we all are one
The militant soldier will lay down his gun
Cause there will no longer be enemies to kill
No bullets will fly, no blood will spill
No cannons will fire, no bombs will drop
The military machine will grind to a stop
The people of the planet will just come together
All of us working to make the world better
A wave of unity and love will be surging
War will be over with World Peace Emerging
So I’m calling out to all the people underneath the sun
If you’re a man or a woman, if you’re old, if you’re young
No matter what you do, or the nation of your birth
Join me in this prayer for Peace on Earth
Everybody loses in the game of war
Can’t do anything but settle the score
Violence leads to violence, we’ve heard it before
So I think it’s a game we shouldn’t play anymore
But when we have peace, well everybody wins
Regardless of religion or the color of your skin
What country we came from or where you call home
If you know the word as peace, salam or shalom
So live by that word till the day that you die
If you promise that you will then I promise so will I
And if we all practice Peace wherever we’re from
A peaceful new era will be soon to come
So I’m calling out to all the people underneath the sun
If you’re a man or a woman, if you’re old, if you’re young
No matter what you do, or the nation of your birth
Join me in this prayer for Peace on Earth
People of the planet lets start having Peace
From here at home all the way to the Middle East
There’s no need for fighting, no need for killing
The world isn’t a comic book full of super villains
The only thing that you should be afraid of is your fears
So open up your eyes, open up your ears
Open up your hearts and open up your minds
Just leave all your hatred and anger behind

The Hippie
04:27
|
|||
When I was young my parents raised me right
My dad sang me Beatles songs every night
Mom cooked organic meals, with homemade desserts
Everyday I went to school wearing tie-dyed shirts
I was taught to love and taught not to hate
I learned consumerism’s bad, and G-d is great
I’m anti-war, and I’m all about peace
For a welfare-system, can’t stand the police
If you can’t dig it, you can get bent
That’s how it is, I’m from hippie descent
From a family of hippies, even uncles and aunts
And at parties we all do the hippie dance
First you close your eyes and sway to and fro
Get your mind in the music and let yourself go
Now move your arms like the waves of the ocean
Keep it up don’t stop this motion
Put a bend in your knee and a smile on your face
And the last step of all is to spin in place
Keep your arms gyrating and your body rotating
And now you’re doing the Hippie
Well, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
And being raised by hippies rubbed off on me
I don’t think being a hippie’s a crime
I been called a dirty hippie more than one time
Call me a hippie I’ll take it as praise
I’m going to be hippie till the end of my days
Sickened by violence, disgusted by killing
My heroes are Lennon, Marley, and Dylan
I don’t discriminate against people in any way
I think cigarettes are bad, but drugs are okay
So take some magic mushrooms start getting trippy
Take off your shoes and dance like a hippie
First you close your eyes and sway to and fro
Get your mind in the music and let yourself go
Now move your arms like the waves of the ocean
Keep it up don’t stop this motion
Put a bend in your knee and a smile on your face
And the last step of all is to spin in place
Keep your arms gyrating and your body rotating
And now you’re doing the Hippie
Well, I’m a vegan so I don’t eat dairy or meat
And I like to sing songs when I walk down the street
If I see a bum I always leave some change
He’s a human too although he looks kind of strange
I don’t watch TV, I play hackey-sack
And for about ten years I’ve had the same backpack
I got peace and love in my bloodstream
And I’d love to kick it if you’re on the same team
What’s mine is yours if what’s yours is mine
So come be my house and we’ll drink some wine
But recycle your bottles, don’t throw them in the trash
And we’ll all get together for a hippie bash
First you close your eyes and sway to and fro
Get your mind in the music and let yourself go
Now move your arms like the waves of the ocean
Keep it up don’t stop this motion
Put a bend in your knee and a smile on your face
And the last step of all is to spin in place
Keep your arms gyrating and your body rotating
And now you’re doing the Hippie

Bad News Blues
04:49
|
|||
Wake up in the morning
And roll out of bed
Head down to the kitchen
And get myself fed
I open the paper
And start to read
But all I can find
Is violence and greed
The stock markets down
Our country’s at war
The rich are still rich
And I’m still poor
All of the stories
Just give me the blues
Nothing in the newspaper
Except for bad news
Bad news
I got the bad news blues
I got the bad news blues
I got the bad news blues
Well I guess that newspaper
Just ain’t for me
So I put it down
Turn on the TV
The morning news
Is on CBS
And as I watch it
I get more depressed
Cause a senator lied
Gas increased in cost
A young girl died
And my ball team lost
All of the programming
Just gives me the blues
Nothing on the television
Except for bad news
Bad news
I got the bad news blues
I got the bad news blues
I got the bad news blues
So I turn off the tube
And hop online
Start surfing the web
And what do I find
Religious crazies
Who say the end is near
And conspiracy theories
That fill me with fear
Less money for school
More money for jail
And my girlfriend dumped me
Through an Email
All of the websites
Just give me the blues
Nothing on the internet
Except for bad news
Bad news
I got the bad news blues
I got the bad news blues
I got the bad news blues
Well the World Wide Web
Just ain’t my scene
So I go to the store
Buy a magazine
The cover is nice
It looks real flashy
But when I start reading
My content is trashy
Full of worthless stories
A bout movie stars
Who gained some weight
Or drove drunk in they cars
All of the articles
Just give the blues
Nothing in the magazines
Except for bad news
Bad news
I got the bad news blues
I got the bad news blues
I got the bad news blues

Hypocrisy
03:19
|
|||
Look in the news and I’m shocked to see
The US is fighting for democracy
Take a look at the war in Iraq, you’ll agree
It’s all just a bunch of hypocrisy
They say 9/11 was a terrorist attack
We couldn’t let it go we just had to react
That makes some sense but they left out the fact
That 9/11 had nothing to do with Iraq
Even Bush said the culprit was Osama Bin Laden
But our entire country seems to have forgotten
And after five years of Iraqi abuse
The leader of Al Queda is still on the loose
Said Saddam had to go cause he was a bad guy
Though in the 80’s he was our ally
Now he was supposedly in the production
Of dangerous weapons of mass destruction
But even with all our military expertise
We couldn’t find any of the WMDs
So now we’re fighting these insurgencies
Just to help save Iraq from the Iraqis
Look in the news and I’m shocked to see
The US is fighting for democracy
Take a look at the war in Iraq, you’ll agree
It’s all just a bunch of hypocrisy
The Iraqis had it bad being ruled by Saddam
So we gave them freedom in the form of some bombs
Killing children, old people, fathers, and moms
Thought the US learned its lesson after Vietnam
Oh wait that’s right, Bush didn’t go
He was to busy doing lines of blow
Maybe he’d make choices that were less naïve
If he had went to war and not away without leave
This conflict was created by a deserter
Who felt like committing an act of mass murder
Now thousands are dead, both foe and friend
In this worthless war that seems to have no end
We’re in the Middle East, dropping bombs for peace
Saving people from Saddam by leaving them deceased
And over a million people to date
Have been killed by the US attack on their state
Look in the news and I’m shocked to see
The US is fighting for democracy
Take a look at the war in Iraq, you’ll agree
It’s all just a bunch of hypocrisy
Mister Obama, you must take a stand
I’m not making a request I’m making a demand
I know you disagree with the war that they planned
And this conflict has gotten completely out of hand
So put an end to this war in a foreign land
To long have our soldiers been stranded in the sand
You’re a good man so I know you understand
And I have hope now that you’re in command
The time has come to bring our troops back here
They’ve been in Iraq for over five years
Dying in the desert before they can drink a beer
The only ones winning are war profiteers
The people wanted change that fact is clear
So we elected you to make this war disappear
We’re tired of the violence, the death, and the fear
That’s all I have to say thanks for lending me your ear

Funny Times
04:18
|

What kind of message is our government sending?
Fighting a war that seems to be never ending
Ain’t got no money but china keeps lending
Trillions in debt and yet we’re still spending
Don’t benefit America that’s for certain
Just helping the Carlyle Group and Halliburton
They been making billions since the conflict began
Wonder why they pushing for a war in Iran?
So making easy money on the taxpayers dime
Through government no bid contracts is fine
But if you don’t give them you taxes it’s a crime
No denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
The war on drugs is a war on us
Seems like everyday there’s another drug bust
Don’t you think it’s a little bit absurd
Putting people in prison for smoking some herb?
Weed is less addictive than tobacco, and yet
On every street corner you an buy cigarettes
Marijuana’s harmless, it never kills
People die all the time popping to many pills
But you can got to the pharmacy wait in line
Buy a whole cart full of drugs, that’s fine
But if you plant hemp in your yard it’s a crime
No denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
The man running for mayor says we need more cops
The crime rate is high and it must be stopped
Well if they got so much crime to fight
Why I see them busting parties every Saturday night?
Harassing young people trying to have a little fun
Power tripping flashing off they badge and gun
Officers enter our homes as they please
Spreading MIPs like STDs
At 18 you can fight on the front line
Kill other human beings and that’s fine
But if you drink an alcoholic beverage it’s a crime
No denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
So I was at a music festival just walking round nude
Security grabbed me said I was being rude
Took me to the police, who said it was a crime
And I’d have to go to court not just pay a fine
Can’t even go to court in the city where I’m from
It’s a 15-hour drive mandatory that I come
Face a thousand dollar fine, three months behind bars
And I don’t even have a driver’s license or a car
So I can buy cloths from a factory line
Made by Asian wage slaves, that’s fine
But if I where my birthday suit it’s a crime
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times
There’s no denying that we’re living in funny times

Wake Up
04:16
|
|||
Wake up, stand up,
speak truth, be proud
I’m on a mission not just a face in the crowd
Til death I will never break this oath that I vowed
Wake up, stand up,
speak truth, be proud
I’m on a mission not just a face in the crowd
Til death I will never break this oath that I vowed
Wake up we’re living in fear
While we watch our human rights disappear
The people in power are nothing but thugs
Making a living off violence and drugs
Overthrowing governments like it’s a joke
Giving the third world guns for coke
Bringing it home, selling it to us
Locking us up when they make a drug bust
We’re getting played but we don’t seem to see
Cause we spend all our time watching TV
And the media hides that we’re in a worldwide
Economic system designed to divide
But people are tired of playing this game
Want something new not more of the same
The system is wrong and we won’t let it be
So if you want to change things repeat after me
I will wake up, stand up,
speak truth, be proud
I’m on a mission not just a face in the crowd
Til death I will never break this oath that I vowed
I will wake up, stand up,
speak truth, be proud
I’m on a mission not just a face in the crowd
Til death I will never break this oath that I vowed
All of us just took an Oath to the death
To speak only truth until our last breath
Be proud of our selves til we pass away
Stand up for whats right til our dying day
Awaken the world, not fal back asleep
Think for ourselves not follow like sheep
No longer shall we settle for the same
All of us are now agents of change
We will no longer sit idly by
Hearing politicians break promises and lie
Watching our governments torture and spy
While countless innocent people die
Sick of those selling us crack and cocaine
Seen more than enough suffering and pain
So if you’re ready for a little bit of change
Say it again, drill it in your brain
I will wake up, stand up,
speak truth, be proud
I’m on a mission not just a face in the crowd
Til death I will never break this oath that I vowed
I will wake up, stand up,
speak truth, be proud
I’m on a mission not just a face in the crowd
Til death I will never break this oath that I vowed
Lets all get together, start a revolution
New generation needs a new constitution
Question society, the media
The bullshit politicians feed to you
Break out the system get your brain rewired
Empowered, educated, intrigued, and inspired
Oil will be gone by the time of my retirement
So lets create a sustainable environment
Gender and racial equality a must
Want to live on a planet that is socially just
Free of hate, greed, fear, instilled with trust
Full of so much love it’s about to bust
This is the kind of world I want to build
The entire population spiritually fulfilled
Some want peace, some progression, I want them both
And everyone that’s with me just repeat the oath
I will wake up, stand up,
speak truth, be proud
I’m on a mission not just a face in the crowd
Til death I will never break this oath that I vowed
I will wake up, stand up,
speak truth, be proud
I’m on a mission not just a face in the crowd
Til death I will never break this oath that I vowed

Grandma
02:44
|
|||
You stopped eating food, didn’t even try
You were tired of living so you chose to die
Way across the country never got to say goodbye
When I heard the news all I could do was cry
Had tears falling from my eyes like rain
Drank a whole bottle of wine to kill the pain
When I realized I’d never see you again
Memories of you began to flash through my brain
Wished I could seen you just once more
Your face would light up as I walked through the door
But I should have made a better effort before
Cause now you were gone and it hurt to my core
Could barely believe that it was true
Far from friends and family mourning you
My last grandparent, only one I really knew
I was so alone there was nothing I could do
Felt sorry for myself but now I finally see
You needed help to eat, you needed help to pee
Life wasn’t worth living, you chose not to be
Trapped in a dying body now your soul is free
I’ll always remember how your cooking taste
Your loving laugh, your warm embrace
And though I’m going to miss your seeing smiling face
In my heart I know you’re in a better place
So I’m still sad but it’s not half as bad
And I want you to know that I’m so glad
That you raised me, and you raised my dad
And I’m very grateful for the time that we had
If I could bring you back, well maybe I would
I’m going to miss you grandma, you were so good
You never did me wrong, you always understood
And loved me more than anybody else ever could
When I think of you that’s what I think of
It’s what you we’re about when push comes to shove
So if you’re still on earth or in heaven up above
In your honor I will spread love
You showed me what love was really worth
Filled me up with loving ever since my birth
So now it is my turn to do the reverse
And spread that love all over this earth
Your love is with me everywhere I go
At every single show, in every single flow
Didn’t get to tell you that before you died so
I hope you can hear me I pray that you know
I’m speaking from my heart, I’m being sincere
You mean so much to me you are dear
Wherever I travel your love will be near
So even though you’re gone you’re still right here

Love
03:37
|
|||
I got nothing but love for another
Love all my friends, love for my lover
Love like a son, love like a brother
And love for one God cause there is no other
Love my friends that always stayed true
Some of you are old and some of you are new
Don’t want one of you to feel left out
So I won’t name names but have no doubt
Your friendship is something I truly treasure
You’ve given me more than I can measure
When I needed you help you’ve been willing and able
Let me sleep on your couch, eat at your table
Learned a lot together had so much fun
Worked a little bit and slacked off a ton
Played games, played sports, you driven me to court
Turned my living room into giant fort
Celebrated victory, drank away our sorrow
Tripped all night till today was tomorrow
Co-created great music and art
I love you all from the bottom of my heart
I got nothing but love for another
Love all my friends, love for my lover
Love like a son, love like a brother
And love for one God cause there is no other
To women I’ve known in an intimate fashion
I loved every single moment of passion
I’m glad that we had a deep enough connection
To give one another some physical affection
Falling asleep next to your beautiful face
Was a feeling that no man on earth could replace
And waking up wrapped in your loving embrace
Kept a smile on my face for the next few days
If we made love, made out, just held hands
Had a real relationship, or one night stand
All I can say is thank you so much
For giving me the rush of a woman’s warm touch
While we made each other moan, exploring the unknown
I’ve grown in a way that I never could alone
So whether or not we’re together or apart
I love you from the bottom of my heart
I got nothing but love for another
Love all my friends, love for my lover
Love like a son, love like a brother
And love for one God cause there is no other
Got so much love for my fam
Without you I just wouldn’t be who I am
Together you’ve shaped me down to my core
Given me so much and still giving more
Wisdom from my father, spirit from my mother
Strength from my sister, emotion from my brother
As long as you’re around, I’ll never be alone
And whenever I’m in town, I always have a home
Throughout my whole life since I was a little kid
You always supported me, no matter what I did
Been there for me through the worst and the best
To have family like you I am truly blessed
Whatever happens to me, or happens to you
Regardless of what I might say or do
No matter where we are however far apart
I love you all from the bottom of my heart
I got nothing but love for another
Love all my friends, love for my lover
Love like a son, love like a brother
And love for one God cause there is no other
Adonai Eloheynu Adonai Echad
Love being part of the ocean of God
To which all return, from which all came
Eternal One known by many different names
Allowing the freedom of life to arise
Like drops of water fly through the sky
And after we die returning our soul
To the endless sea of the Universal Whole
If you’re from Earth underneath the sun
Or you an alien, no matter what planet you’re from
When your life ends and it’s all said and done
You don’t exist you’re just part of the One
But don’t feel bad, it’s not just you
Everything else is part of One too
You and I have been One right from the start
So I love you from the bottom of my heart
I got nothing but love for another
Love all my friends, love for my lover
Love like a son, love like a brother
And love for one God cause there is no other

Rose
03:32
|
|||
A man and a woman who are in their mid-twenties
Together 5 years and happy indeed
They aren’t very rich no they don’t have plenty
But they love each other and have what they need
The two live a simple and peaceful life
The husband is kind and he loves wife
The wife is beautiful and cares for her man
They haven’t had a fight since their marriage began
The wife looks at her partner with a tender gaze
She knows they’ll be together ‘til the end of their days
Approaches him one day and asks him if maybe
He would be ready to for them to have a baby
He’s thrilled with the idea, he’d been wanting one too
So he told her, “Honey of course I do
Why wouldn’t I want a family member that’s new?
Especially if they’ll be anything like you”
So for weeks they go at it night and day
The two to begin to wonder what’s the delay
Then finally one morning the wife is relieved
The test comes up positive, at last she’d conceived
She told her man, and what a grin he smiled
In just a few months they would have their first child
The two were so happy, they told all their friends
But happily is not how this story ends
Several months go by and the woman’s belly grows
It’s going to be a girl and they’re going to name her Rose
The husband buys a crib, paints the extra room pink
The whole nine months the wife doesn’t take a drink
Instead she binges on ice cream and pickles
Sometimes the baby kicks and it kind of tickles
The husband goes to bed with his hand on her stomach
Boy the nine-month mark sure did come quick
Wife goes into labor the very next morning
With back pains contractions and other signs of warning
Her body aches, and she gets the shakes
And a couple minutes later her water breaks
The soon to be father helps his wife to the truck
She’s in so much pain all she can say, “Fuck!”
They make it to the hospital and lay her on table
Husband at her side saying, “Push if you’re able”
She pushes and pushes and with a final shout
She is able to push her first baby out
The beautiful girl was the perfect size
She had her mommy’s nose and her daddy’s eyes
But her eyes didn’t blink, and her mind didn’t think
And she never got to sleep in the room painted pink
Some roses are red, some roses have thorns
This Rose was dead, it was a stillborn
There was no chance of medical revival
Because the couple’s baby was dead on arrival
I never got to meet her and I’m sad that I missed her
Cause the couple is my parents and Rose was sister

Wild
03:17
|
|||
I’ve had a dream ever since I was a child
That I could eat, run, sleep, breath and live in the wild
You know everyday I’d wake up at the crack of dawn
Rub my eyes, stretch my limbs, raise my head with a yawn
Build myself a fire and begin to forage
Like I do for every meal cause I don’t put shit in storage
Free of possessions I don’t own any stuff
I eat when I’m hungry, there’s always enough
Moving from place to place, always on the roam
I don’t own any land, the whole forest is my home
When it rains I get wet, when its sunny I’m dry
And I never get upset about what comes from the sky
Living in the woods makes me strong and wise
Improves my hearing and sharpens my eyes
My life is simplistic, it’s animalistic
Going with the flow and always staying optimistic
I don’t wear no deodorant, I smell kind of funky
But I run like wolf and I climb like a monkey
Jump like a rabbit swim like a fish
I don’t have a schedule so I do what I wish
Skip stones across the river to pass away the time
No need to worry about hate, greed, or crime
There’s no violence, poverty, murder, or war
And everyone is equal there’s no rich and no poor
No painful politics, racist religion
Ignorant radio, or dumb television
Moronic magazines, no bigoted books
No cutthroat, capitalistic, crack smoking, crooks
No lying lawyers, or unjust judges
Inflated prices, or unbalanced budgets
Cell phones with flashy, fucking useless, features
No red-neck, bible-thumping, prejudice, preachers
Everything is peaceful and everyone’s in love
I pay my respects to the sun up above
As well as mother earth right below my feet
Just grateful to be blessed with this life so sweet
And when the time is right, I’ll find myself a mate
Together we’ll see what kind of life we can create
I want sons and daughters, I’ll father many a child
And teach them all the secrets of surviving in the wild
Keep your body, your mind, and your spirit strong
Always do what is right, never do someone wrong
It’s not about winning it’s about having fun
And be kind to all creatures cause they’re part of the One
And when I’ve passed to my children all the knowledge that I knew
And I’m old, and tired, and my time here is through
I’ll die and decompose and return to the earth
Continuing the cycle of death and rebirth
